It seems there is an app for everything, and for a long while I was resistant to almost all of them. But when it comes right down to it, apps can be very helpful when it comes to leveling up our habits, especially new habits. Finally, I am on board.
I’ve been meditating for years (decades?) so I don’t need an app for that, but many people have great success with https://www.calm.com/ and https://www.headspace.com/ .
One of my daughters recently introduced me to this app to aid in intermittent fasting https://www.bodyfast.app/en/ and another daughter suggested this one for my fledgling running habit: https://www.runtastic.com/. The first time I used the running app, I forgot to hit start. The second time, I forgot to hit finish. But eventually I remembered the thing, and using it made me feel more accountable to my thrice weekly runs.
Whatever tools we use or don’t use, the goal is to do what works best for us, and to include joy along the way.
Happy Monday!
