Minimal Monday

Worrying over things blocks the flow of life, so I’ve begun practicing a new and simple way to let go of situations that I either don’t have control over or am uncertain of what to do about. As soon as I notice the worrying thoughts creep into my mind, if there is no clear solution, I say Thank You in my mind’s eye. Thank you, powers that be, for handling this. Thank you for guiding me to the right action to take. Thank you for showing me the best solution, the highest good. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I let it go and return to peace, trusting that I will know what to do in time, or it will resolve itself. I have found that the more I can let go of things, and return to life’s flow, the better things turn out.

On Saturday I participated in a dual author reading in Connecticut. I am so thankful to the people who came out to attend, helping to make this a successful event! In addition to reading from our two books (my memoir and author William J. McGee’s novel), we had a very lively discussion with the attendees who were a great mix of people! We covered the themes of child custody, parental-child attachment bond, and the courage to write. The event went an hour over the expected time because we all had so much to say. There were brownies and cookies, tears and laughter. I will likely be hosting another event in Massachusetts this winter, but am always open to suggested locations. Feel free to send me a message!

Here we are at the book reading event, holding each other’s books:
