Who has not experienced the phenomenon of sunk-cost fallacy? It is the inertia of staying the course of action even after you’ve determined it is not right for you. It can be difficult to abandon something because of what we have already invested in it. This can be something as simple as a book or sport we have tried or as complex as a career, or a relationship. It can be anything that we’ve invested time, energy or money in.
When should we accept the wasted investment rather than going further down the wrong path? It takes courage to ask that question.
